Linden is an English given name referring to the Linden tree. In the United States, the name (along with variant Lyndon) was somewhat popular as a boys name from the 1930s to the 1960s. Linden reached a peak in popularity in 1947 as the 921st most popular boys name in the Social Security Administration's list of most popular boys names (and variant form Lyndon reached a peak in 1964 as the 347th most popular boys name), but currently it is not included in the list. The name has never been on the top 1000 names list for girls.
